Despite Nintendo's stance against online play, Sega is continuing with plans to release the preposterously titled Phantasy Star Online III: C.A.R.D. Revolution later this Summer. And while a firm release date remains elusive, at least we've got a generous amount of new shots to send your way.
Offering a comforting combination of card-based combat - y'know, like top trumps - along with the hunter-based exploration of planet Ragol, there's also an extensive off-line mode to experiment with if you're still waiting to get hooked up to broadband.
Sega hinted a few weeks back that this could be the last Phantasy Star game for a while. Course, it could have been bluffing, but nonetheless if you're a GameCube fan with an interest in all things online then for god's sake buy this and maybe someone from Nintendo might start taking that whole online gaming idea seriously.
If not, you've no-one to blame but yourselves when the big N squawks on about connectivity again at next year's E3.
