Midway snaps up Shaolin Monks developer

Paradox Development now part of the expanding Midway empire

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks developer Paradox Entertainment has been bought by Midway, bolstering the latter company's internal talent with two development teams.

Midway's purchase of Paradox Entertainment is its third acquisition in recent months. In April 2004 Midway acquired Surreal Software Inc., the development studio behind the suffering, and in October this year bought AREA 51 developer Inevitable Entertainment Inc.

Paradox Development is based in Moorpark, California, its Xbox and PS2 title Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks a game shirking tradition by treading the action-adventure route. Expect environmental hazards, boss battles, new fatalities, plenty of characters from the series and naturally lots of spine-ripping action.
