Despite a slightly duff name the original Stronghold was pretty well received, throwing boulders at walls and laying siege to behemoth stone structures turning out to be a lot more interesting in virtual reality than it sounded on paper. Now developer FireFly Studios is heading back into the breach with Stronghold 2, a sequel that's taking the series into the polygon-fuelled world of 3D.
Naturally you'll get to build and develop numerous types of castles and defences, fight on the battlefield and fiddle around with siege weaponry while also getting to do stuff like watching peasants go about daily routines and observing plenty of other medieval lifestyle occurrences. Personally, we're more keen on the combat side, although it's nice to see FireFly injecting the game with a bit of life.
Stronghold 2 is due for release in April 2005 and you can chek out the latest wall-breaking movie by clicking here.
