Who'd have thought a side-scrolling, 2D beat-'em-up would have had such an impact on gaming in the 21st Century? Viewtiful Joe, that's who. Defiantly flying in the face of 3D games everywhere Capcom's technicolour hero battered a whole movie reel's worth of freshness into a stale genre.
Now the sequel is on its way for PS2 and GameCube, complete with new FX moves like Replay which can treble damage inflicted - or received - and a more satisfying role for Joe's strangely alluring bespectacled bird, Silvia.
These screenshots show of loads of the sequel's new features, including the replay FX in action and Silvia's own electric brand of arse kicking.
We've got a whole lot of additional Viewtiful Joe 2 coverage nestling under this word. Expect Joe 2 to hit screens on April 2.
