Bethesda Softworks has announced that it's following up its movie tie-in videogame Pirates of the Caribbean with sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow is due in 2006 on PS2, Xbox and PC, blending action and adventure and it's said to capture "the entertaining characters, settings, and spirit of the first movie [Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl]." And allow you to experience the adventures of pirate Jack Sparrow, of course, presumably featuring the same dodgy English accent.
Expect plenty of swashbuckling action as you slash and hack your way through a number of environments - a dozen different locations are promised - including burning buildings, wrecked ships, and misty moonlit caves.
Levels will be "fully interactive," says Bethesda, and the gameplay varied, the company also stating that the gameplay experience "will be thoroughly engrossing, as one minute you are fighting hordes of your enemies, while the next you're evading capture by the Royal Navy. You learn new moves and combos as the game progresses, allowing even more spectacular, and deadly attacks during combat."
