Far Cry Instincts, rather than a direct for of Crytek's FPS Far Cry, is actually set in the Far Cry universe. Our hero, Jack Carver, remains the same, and Ubisoft's internal development studio at Montreal is packing the PC version's champion formula into the console game, but the real cherry on the top here is that FC Instincts boasts plenty of new features to set it apart from its PC cousin.
As Jack Carver, you're in a battle for survival on a tropical island infested with a legion of elite mercenaries and other enemies besides, and within the game's completely open environment you can take cover in the undergrowth, set traps, kill by stealth, battle from extreme long range and gun-mounted vehicles and fight in close quarters to win through.
On top of that, you also be able to "unleash your predatory skills" as Ubisoft puts it, with Carver able to track the enemy's scent, become faster and stronger and develop his vision as events are played out. Been injecting a bit of the old experimental serum there, Jack?
And when you've completed the single-player game, you'll be able to continue the battle online in Deathmatch and dabble with the level editor, upload custom maps via Xbox Live and fight in user-created battlegrounds.
