Square Enix planning a party

Party 2005 debuts new games and Advent Children

From out of a myst of confusing kanji has come the announcement of the Square Enix Party 2005, a glitzy event for would-be fans to come play Square Enix's new batch of titles.

Taking place over the 30th and 31st of July, the event promises to allow gamers the chance to play new games such as Final Fantasy XII, FF7: Dirge of Cerberus, Code Age Commanders, Kingdom Hearts 2, and even the Square-run Everquest 2, sporting a new engine for the japanese audience.

The bad news is it's in Japan, but if you're in the neighbourhood other interesting new titles are Brave Fencer Musashi 2: Episode Zero, Front Mission Online, and Full Metal Alchemist 3, as well as what our translator describes as "mobile contents," and the possibility to buy various Square related swag. Possibly the most interesting part of the gathering is that the FF7 film, Advent Children, will be present at the "Mega Theatre." From what we could gather, it's going to be more than a trailer, as the promotion claims it to be an "up to date image" - no word yet on what this means, but it doesn't sound like your run-of-the-mill trailer.

By the looks of it, it's not just a press event, so Japanese fans will get a chance to dive in head first this July. Details on admission are as yet unavailable.
