In what's shaping up to be a combination of Half-life 2, Mad Max and that scary drama Threads from the seventies, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. takes place in a post-nuclear disaster zone, where you must somehow scrape by on what you can salvage and sell.
Killing your way through all manner of mutants great and small, as well as battling fellow Stalkers, you've got to somehow uncover the (you guessed it!) conspiracy behind the whole situation, leading to one of eight possible endings á la Deus Ex.
Sporting 20 square miles of recreated Russia around the Chernobyl radioactive plant and a random event generator to keep things lively, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. certainly could be one of the most intriguing FPS/RPGs this year, though we're not holding our breath on release dates.
