Publisher JoWooD Productions has announced the termination of its development agreement with Australian coders, Perception, after concerns over the quality of its forthcoming Stargate SG-1: The Alliance title.
The game was previously slated for release on PS2, Xbox and PC this October, but is now on hold indefinitely, with the publisher stating that the title "does satisfy neither our quality requirements nor the fans' expectations." JoWood Productions continued, "we now simply have lost confidence in [Perception's] ability to finish this project in time and sufficient quality."
All is not lost, however - the publisher has stated that once it receives existing code and assets from Perception, it will consider the economic viabilty of passing development duties over to an alternative company.
If JoWooD announces any new Stargate, er, alliances, we'll let you know.
