Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment studio has announced a deal with mobile phone games publisher GameLoft to bring Lumines and Meteos to portable telephonic devices the length and breadth of the world.
The news should be welcomed by fans of the DS and PSP classics still struggling to reconcile available luggage space with constant and near insatiable cravings for both platforms' puzzlers - and, frankly, anyone else with a pulse and at least a passing interest in shifting random blocks around the place. Builders, for example.
Shuji Utsumi, CEO of Q Entertainment also seems quite pleased with the whole thing, practically whooping that the company is "excited that Lumines and Meteos will be enjoyed by a wider reach of customers through distribution on mobile phones."
If you're still oblivious to the splendour of both games, we insist you check out Mr G. User's gushing praises of Lumines, while those curious about Meteos can look forward to our full review in the upcoming weeks as Nintendo preps the game for European release.
Personally, we wouldn't even bother waiting for that - just rush out and buy the damn things. Otherwise, if your handheld hardware is lacking, stick around for the newly announced mobile phone versions, due to hit stores early 2006.
