While Microsoft bandies about vague terms like 'launch window' whenever conversation turns to release dates for its big first party Xbox 360 titles PGR 3, Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo, EA has unveiled the first officially confirmed launch day game for the next-gen console, in the shape of Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
According to EA's website, Need for Speed: Most Wanted - or Nee'spe' Mo'wah, if you're strapped for time - is set for release on November 16. If you're one of our more eagle-eyed readers you'll probably have already tallied up the figures and realised that the next-gen game will be on shelves a full seven days (or six if you're a pedantic arse) prior to the Xbox 360's November 22 US launch, as recently announced by Microsoft.
Although no release date has been announced for other territories yet, we'd happily bet a week's wages that it'll show up around the same time as the 360 on European turf - not our wages, obviously, that would be stupid.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted, features online multiplayer Xbox Live play, fancy next-gen graphics and more racing action than you'll find in, say, a handbag in its Xbox 360 guise. You'll also be able to pick it up for pretty much every other format too though, so lining Bill's pockets to play is currently optional.
