Capcom Research & Development chief Keiji Inafune has spilled the beans on the company's simultaneous launch hopes for the hotly anticipated next-gen horror-fest Resident Evil 5.
According to reports, in a recent interview with Japanese publication Xbox360ism Inafune-san revealed that the next-gen Resident Evil title is currently being planned for release on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 at the same time, which would make it the first game in the series to receive an simultaneous multi-platform release.
However, with Sony keeping quiet on launch plans for its next-gen console, Capcom can't set things in stone just yet. "We want to grow the Resident Evil series into a multi-platform franchise, so we hope to release it simultaneously... But since we don't know the launch period for the PS3 yet, it's hard to say," Inafune-san stated.
Meanwhile, also revealed in the interview were sketchy online plans for Resident Evil 5, and an "after 2006" release for the company's other zombie offering, Dead Rising. We just can't get enough of flesh-eating mischief makers.
