New FlatOut 2 screenshots

Bugbear Entertainment's preparing to give us another physics lesson with its destruct-a-thon racer sequel

It's been many moons since we've heard from Bugbear Entertainment's FlatOut 2. But, with the sequel about to reintroduce us to massive scenery destruction, drivers hurtling through windscreens to kiss the tarmac and a plethora of other wince-inducing moments, the powers that be - publisher Empire in this case - have trundled out new screenshots.

The game's out this May on PC, PS2 and Xbox and follows the original's bonkers physics-showcase racing formula, but this time around you're getting a revamped physics engine, tracks designed to permit faster burn-ups and a doubling up of available vehicles. Plus, there's more circuits and mini-games and new multiplayer modes and, with over 5,000 fully destructible objects on every track as well as 40 deformable parts on each vehicle, things are going to get messy.
