2K Games spooks up Ghost Rider

Game of the movie of the comic book set to hit stores alongside celluloid adaptation

2K Games, in a flourish of dramatic manoeuvres, has revealed that it's set to publish the game of the upcoming Ghost Rider movie (based on the Marvel comic of the same name), set to hit multi-capacity projection houses next February.

Previously, the game was linked to publisher Majesco, with development duties apparently being tackled by Climax. Despite 2K Games' announcement, it seems that Climax is still onboard and the game's set to make an appearance on currently-unspecified consoles and handhelds alongside the movie.

If you're interested, Ghost Rider tells the tale of motorcycle stunt rider Johnny Blaze who strikes a deal with Mephistopheles to save his dying father in exchange for his immortal soul. From then on, Blaze is destined to ride the empty roads at night as the host to the powerful supernatural entity known as the Ghost Rider, it says here.

Apparently the game continues the movie's story, with players taking the guise of Blaze to avenge evil in an "immersive, supernatural third person world with a seamless blend of hand-to-hand combat and high-speed motorcycle action". Super.
