As reported last week, IO Interactive, the developers behind the Hitman series and Freedom Fighters, has confirmed its new project Kane and Lynch: Dead Men, an 'intense third-person action shooter' heading for PC and 360 next year.
The blurb from the Eidos marketing bods has it down as "a dark and gritty tale of two men bound by circumstance as they wait on death row...one is a flawed mercenary, the other a medicated psychopath. The two are forced to embark on a violent and chaotic journey, hating each other every step of the way." Well, judging by the Hitman titles, IO does 'flawed' hard guys and 'violence' to a tee.
Eidos also said that the "volatile partnership" of its protagonists, combined with "innovative technologies allow for an unparalleled gaming experience".
"No gamer will have experienced anything anything like this before," promised Eidos'global head Larry Sparks. "Take IO's innovation and graphical excellence from the Hitman series, add some of their widely acclaimed squad expertise from Freedom Fighters, then take these to a new level in next-generation technology."
It doesn't end there: "Add a gripping story, an anti-hero and a psychopath and you get Kane & Lynch: Dead Menl the ultimate next-generation experience." Wise words mate.
We're already excited by the impending violence, and have put a contract out for a few new, meatier details in the very near future.
