World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade is to miss its original November 2006 release date.
Speaking to the developer's parent company Vivendi this morning about the delay, we were told that feedback from those playing in the closed beta has played a part in the decision. On the plus side, the extended development time will mean the closed beta is opened up to more WoW fans.
We've been playing in the closed beta and it's seemed solid to us, but it's a Blizzard product and history tells us that if the developer's not 100 percent happy, it has no qualms about extending development time.
"We feel confident that the extra time spent polishing the game will result in the high-quality experience that our players expect and deserve," is the word from Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard.
