April 27, 2007 - New scans revealed foxy female
Official PlayStation Magazine lands in subscribers' hands and the 14-page preview is torn apart. Key points include details of Rockstar's creation of Liberty City, which the company claims is the real star of the game.

April 24, 2007 - New details from Game Informer Q&A
Game informer man answers fan queries, revealing new Midnight Club-style driving and scarce loading times.

April 10, 2007 - First gamplay details revealed
GTA IV-branded Game Informer lands in subscribers hands, revealing the first concrete GTA IV gameplay details including:

- Lead character's name is Niko Bellic, and he's believed to be Croatian or Serbian.
- Multiplayer is be announced at some point in the future.
- Players can use a mobile to call your contacts.
- There are no planes as the game takes place in one city only.
- You'll have more choice than in previous games, though you will still be taking orders from people.
- The story is said to unfold in many different ways giving you more choice and control over the outcome.
- The structure of the storyline is said to be "quite different" to previous games.

April 2, 2007 - First artwork emerges
Teaser cover of a US mag reveals the first GTA IV artwork - and the promise of new details and screenshots when the publication arrives at the end of the month.

March 29, 2007 - First trailer goes live
Debut teaser trailer reveals first GTA IV info, including the Liberty City and modern day setting. Also uncovered in the trailer is...

East European main character: The narrator in the trailer is a Russian character whose background seems to revolve around murder, smuggling and erm, selling people.

RAGE engine: As has always been heavily assumed, the next GTA ditches Renderware to make use of the graphically-spectacular Table Tennis RAGE engine (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine).

The funny is back: proving that GTA hasn't lost it's trademark humour are the plethora of fake adverts available for glimpse in the video, including upcoming TV show "America's Next Top Hooker" and "Sprunk", a beverage we probably won't picking up on the next trip round Tesco.

March 1, 2007 - Take Two reaffirms episodic content date
Previously announced GTA IV episodic content will now arrive in 2008, Take Two reveals in its financial report.
