S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community on S.T.R.I.K.E.

THQ blamed for poor support

A German S.T.A.L.K.E.R. community has gone on strike over the lack of patch support offered by publisher THQ.

A translated statement reads, "Five years ago we founded today's leading S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fansite, in the time span of just a few weeks we accomplished to create an intensive with the developer GSC Game World and provided recent news firsthand - but to this day, THQ US has not been able to arrange a working and optimal patch policy for both sides.

"We are on strike - for so long until something changes and THQ US feel like releasing already completed patches and don't wait for weeks or even months, until the patch is available in every single localisation."

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was released with more than just a few bugs and both firms moved quickly to rectify the situation.

Unfortunately saved games from previous versions of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. didn't work with the patch, which caused an outcry.

Our THQ UK spokesperson couldn't comment when contacted, but we've requested an official response and are waiting to hear back. We've also dropped GSC a line to get to the bottom of things. Stay tuned.
