Take Two has officially detailed Gearbox's sci-fi shooter Borderlands, which we first heard about yesterday.
Apparently the new franchise - which has more than a whiff of Id's Rage about it - is all about player customization and vehicular combat - plus there's some shooting in there as well.
Most interesting though, is the promise of a "groundbreaking content generation system", which according to Take Two allows for "near-endless" variety in missions, environments, enemies, weapons, item drops and character customization. Has Gearbox been playing Forza, perhaps?
"We're tapping into every bit of Gearbox Software's experience with the biggest science fiction video game franchises, then taking everything way past the next level," says Gearbox president Randy Pitchford, reaching for his big book of PR phrases.
As mentioned yesterday, there's also a four-player online co-op mode in there which players can jump in out of at anytime.
It's out on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC at the end of next year - look for the first eyes-on impression during the Leipzig Games Convention next week.
