Nanostray 2 has had quite a rough ride. The brilliant-looking sequel to the scrolling shoot-'em-up that launched in the early days of the DS has suffered one delay after another, but it finally looks like it's on the way.
Do you remember this frickin' sweet trailer? Any fan of screen-filling bullet swarms will be into the nutty level-rotating action in Nanostray 2, but it seemed to disappear completely since then, almost as if it'd been canned. But, we're glad to say that it will see the light of day... but not until 2008.
It's "early 2008" actually, because publisher Majesco and developer Shin'en still couldn't nail down an exact release date in the announcement today.
The full game features six game modes including two-player co-op and versus modes, Challenge (with 30+ different missions) and the brand new Simulator mode, in which you go high-score hunting in four futuristic games.
"With both horizontal and vertical viewpoints that offer more variety between levels, Nanostray 2 also includes multiple control schemes and configurable weapons that are a necessity to defeat the game's 16 formidable bosses," says Majesco.
Sounds cool to us. Below is a truck-load of new bullet-filled screens that will definitely please your 'shmup'-loving eyes.
