Ubisoft has publicly ruled itself out of the race to buy Eidos because it's too expensive.
Reuters reports that a spokesperson for the company said, "Ubisoft has no intention of making an offer for SCi-Eidos." Ubisoft has previously been named as a possible bidder for the firm.
SCi has said that discussions were going on with a number of companies but would not reveal their identities - the spoil sports. The Ubisoft spokesman said SCi's valuation did not fit with Ubisoft's "profitability criteria".
Asked if this meant it was too expensive, he said "yes", reports Reuters. "We are looking at other opportunities for external and internal growth which can create more potential value for shareholders."
