Here's a date wannabe European rock gods need to tattoo on their foreheads - November 23. That's when Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will grace your local games emporium. For those of you still undecided, there should be a demo on Marketplace tomorrow.
Each version of the sequel - Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2 - features a wireless guitar (replica Gibson Les Paul for the former three platforms, and Kramer Pacer for PS2) and enough rock to make even a Neanderthal stand back in amazement. Or something...
The Sex Pistols, Muse, Kaiser Chiefs, Killers, Guns N Roses, Iron Maiden and Red Hot Chili Peppers are joined by numerous other bands, and on top of that top hat-sporting, curly haired axe-wielder Slash has written exclusive compositions for the sequel.
He also appears as on of the game's boss characters. And on the box.
Red Octane's Zach Fountain (general manager) has described Guitar Hero III as the biggest release the series has seen to date.
"Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is the first time the franchise has released simultaneously across multiple formats, so we're delighted to be able to confirm a single street date for all home consoles. The game introduces a host of innovations on each format - no matter what your console of choice, November 23rd will be the day your world gets well and truly rocked."
Guitar Hero III versus Rock Band. Like Metallica versus GNR all over again.
