PC Gamer UK has picked out its hottest games of 2008, the list totalling an impressive 110 titles. The carnage continues below, and we'll be adding to the list over the coming days. Should you have missed previous parts of the feature, you can find links to them below.
Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath (ETA: TBC)
This expansion pack for last year's hit RTS has new units (all of them 'epic' - think Sup Com's massive Spiderbots), a new Risk-like meta-game, and new FMV Hollywood hotties, including Natasha Henstridge.
Cryostasis (ETA: Spring)
Putting survival horror into an FPS engine, 1C's shooter is set in 1968. You play Russian meteorologist Alexander Nesterov, stuck on a wrecked ship and surrounded by ice zombies, in a game that uses cold as its key mechanic.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm (ETA: Summer)
The fans wanted Tyranids, but the Dawn of War developers have thrown us a curve-ball, introducing two new humanoid races instead. It might be the best decision they ever made.
The first new race is the Dark Eldar: sadistic, futuristic space elves. They have a penchant for piracy, routinely practise slavery, and love to torture their foes. And possibly their friends. On the battlefield, they bring antigrav lifts to most of their weapons: they're the first side in the Dawn of War games to field flying units.
And the second new race? WAR NUNS!
Properly known as the Sisters of Battle, these are the religious overseers of the Emperor. Expect flamers, flame grenades, and flame resistant skirts: the Sisters love to burn the heresy out of their opponents.
New races aren't the only addition. Every side will now receive a flying unit or two, and there'll be balance tweaks to even out the sides. And, for the obsessive compulsive, an achievement system will track how well you're playing.
Death to Spies (ETA: Summer)
World War II: snore. Stealth: more interesting. Spies: attention gained! Focusing on Russian counter-intelligence agents, this is a third-person stealth-a-thon, letting you disguise, sneak and murder your way through the war.
DCS: Black Shark (ETA: Summer)
How hard can it be to fly a military helicopter? Just throw yourself at the controls, and pray. In this hardcore sim you'll pilot the Ka-50, a Russian chopper nicknamed the 'Hokum'. The reason it's cool? It has two, counter-rotating, rotors.
Democracy 2 (ETA: Summer)
Staying in power is your goal in this sequel to indie hit Democracy. Get 50% of the vote, every four years. Appealing to a fickle and hysterical electorate means squashing any sense of moral purpose: yup, sounds like democracy to us.
Devil May Cry 4 (ETA: Spring)
Devil May Cry has made great hay on the consoles by making gamers feel cool as they slice through acres of demon flesh. The trick is to combine gun- and sword- play and chain hits together: with a few button presses you can stay aloft for days.
