Vigil Games has spilled the first details on its upcoming MMO in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
"The sheer scale of Warhammer 40,000 lends itself to experiences players have never seen in an MMO," said David Adams speaking to PC Gamer US. "The term 'Battleground' takes on an entirely different meaning."
Adams added that while Warhammer 40,000 (abbreviated to 40K in 'certain' circles) will still include the intimate battlegrounds that other MMO's have, it will focus on events that give the player a sense of the epic battles 40K is known for.
It will be possible to solo the game, but it will also include party and PvP missions. You won't be able to advance completely without combat either, but non-violent activities and actions will be possible.
Expect to see the full range of hive cities, chaos shrines and drifting hulks in the game too. It won't be just limited to the battlegrounds.
Finally, Creative Director Joe Madureira stated that: "I hate to say this without showing images to back it up, but I feel like we are going to have the coolest looking characters of any MMO, ever."
"Once we begin releasing images, feel free to call me on that remark."
We certainly will, Madureira. We'll try and get some more specific details soon.
