Konami sues Harmonix over Rock Band

Infringement of patents for a "musical-rhythm matching game"

Konami is suing Rock Band developer Harmonix for alleged infringement of patents filed in 2002 and 2003.

The complaint, filed yesterday, claims that the game infringes on patents related to a game music system, simulated instruments and a "musical-rhythm matching game".

Konami, who created the popular rhythm-action DDR series and plans to release a Rock Revolution titles this year, is claiming damage compensation and seeks to block the sale of Rock Band and its instruments, according to Bloomberg.
