THQ has finally confirmed that it has picked up the publishing rights to 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.
We first reported the news last week when a listing for the game popped up on the Australian Classification Database tagging THQ as the publisher, which was swiftly followed by a similar BBFC listing, although the company wouldn't comment on the matter at the time.
But it has now officially confirmed that it has rescued the 50 Cent game, which had been left in limbo after ex-publisher Vivendi merged with Activision and the firm dropped the title.
And to celebrate THQ has released a new trailer.
In development at Swordfish Studios using the Unreal Engine 3, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is a third person action shooter for 360 and PS3 which puts you in the role of the hip hop star himself.
The game will feature online drop-in and drop-out co-op multiplayer, brawler combat and vehicle and helicopter combat. Lets just hope its better than 50 Cent: Bulletproof.
"Blood on the Sand has non-stop action and exclusive music tracks from me and the G-Unit that you won't find anywhere else," said 50 Cent. "Plus our fans will be able to play together with online co-op, and maybe even join me or one of the G-Unit online."
The game's due out in January 2009.
