Metal Gear Solid 4 - 9.5
Before LittleBigPlanet arrived, Konami's latest espionage action title was undoubtedly the game to own on PS3. The first true system-seller, and one incredible achievement in terms of game design, cinematics and supreme production values.

Bioshock PS3 - 9.3
It took a full rumour-filled year to make the jump to PS3, but it finally got there, with all its visual splendour and plasmid-related genius intact, (eventually anyway). Now the initially Xbox 360 and PC-only title is one of PS3's must-haves.

Ninja Gaiden II - 8.0
Ninja Gaiden is hailed as a purist's game that takes massive amounts of skill and patience to conquer. NG II admittedly didn't do much to change the formula of the Xbox original - it just gave you plenty more ninja heads to chop off. And you'll love it.

Spore - 9.1
To the games industry Will Wright is a titan, and his games sell lots. Spore isn't only an exciting prospect for the men in suits though, because as one of the most ambitious games in recent years you're guaranteed to have played nothing like it at all.

Fable II - 9.2
A decade of hyperbole and a big pile of promises later, and Lionhead has finally, thankfully, released its best game to date, even if in Peter Molyneux tradition it doesn't quite deliver on every promise.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 9.3
It was supposed to be a Wii launch game. So it was a little late, but Nintendo made damn sure - with 487 screenshots that you didn't forget it. And rightly so - it's one of Nintendo's biggest, most feature-packed games, and a super celebration of all things Nintendo.

Far Cry 2 - 9.4
We remember the first Far Cry on PC with a great deal of fondness. It's had a somewhat rocky ride on consoles since then, but Far Cry 2 has put the series right back on track as a platform-leading shooter.

Too Human - 6.8
A strange one, this. After being years on the making, and having plenty of hype thrown around it, big things were expected of Too Human. That said, all eyes were on what reviewers would think of it - even if things might not have gone exactly how Silicon Knights will have planned.
