World of Warcraft's subscriber base has hit 11.5 million, according to developer Blizzard.
Sales of the world's most popular MMORPG have recently been fuelled by the release of the game's second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, which shifted more than four million copies in its first month on sale.
"We're pleased to welcome the new and returning players who have helped World of Warcraft reach these new milestones, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and support that the game's global community has continued to show," said Mike Morhaime, CEO of Blizzard, who we imagine will be having a nice Christmas.
Under two months ago Blizzard revealed that World at Warcraft's subscriber base had reached 11 million, so in the time since another 500,000 have taken up the game. At that growth rate everyone in the known universe will be playing WoW within a couple of years. Ok, maybe not, but it's still a hell of a lot of players.
