In an attempt to put to bed rumours that the title has been axed, publisher LucasArts has said that new details about its elusive next-gen Indiana Jones game are forthcoming.
"LucasArts remains absolutely committed to the Indiana Jones franchise. While we are aware that fans have been eagerly awaiting additional information on the upcoming game, they can rest assured that details are forthcoming," a rep told Joystiq.
The comment came after IGN claimed to have been informed by "multiple sources" that the PS3 and 360 game, originally demonstrated at E3 in 2006 but a no-show ever since, had been axed.
The mystery has thickened a little bit though, because French site LiveWii is claiming to have got its hands on part of Activision's release schedule for 2009.
The publisher, which handles distribution for LucasArts on this side of the pond, is reportedly planning to launch Indiana Jones and the Sceptre of the Kings for Wii in June.
We've left a message with Activision over here and LucasArts in the States, so maybe we'll get something interesting back, but probably not.
The last we really heard of the the game was when a few environment screenshots leaked onto the net late last year.
