PS2 finally gets Tomb Raider: Underworld

Latest Lara game swinging onto Sony's last-gen console this week

Eidos will be hoping for a boost in Tomb Raider: Underworld sales when the game gets its overdue release on PS2 this Friday.

The Crystal Dynamics-developed title arrives on Sony's last-gen system two months after making its debut on almost every other system.

Underworld didn't review badly but publisher Eidos said recently that its sales total of 1.5 million units had failed to hit pre-release targets.

The game could turn out to be somewhat of a collector's item if plans to give the series a 'family friendly' makeover come to fruition.

For those that missed it, the game sees Lara Croft uncover proof of the Norse underworld and the mythical hammer of Thor, which could lay waste to all civilization if it falls into the wrong hands. Deep.
