Capcom: Dead Rising 2 multiplatform?

"No official announcement" on second game says rep, suggests "mistranslation"

Capcom has responded to a supposed quote in the new Japanese Famitsu mag, confirming a "multiplatform" sequel to zombie action game Dead Rising.

According to a translation (via Kotaku), Capcom exec and Mega Man daddy Keiji Inafune told the mag: "We're finally putting out new Dead Rising and Lost Planet games! As a main principle we're thinking about multi-platform, and expanding upon both slightly from the Xbox 360 version."

But according to a Capcom UK spokesperson, the information isn't necessarily water-proof.

Speaking to CVG, the firm said: "Dead Rising was a huge success for us and is obviously the kind of game we'd like to continue to make.

"However, at the moment we have made no official announcement regarding a sequel. As the source is Famitsu, I can only suggest that it was a mistranslation."

There you are then. It's not confirmed yet, but frankly we'd be massively surprised if it isn't soon.
