Godfather game lawsuit settled

The Puzo estate gets an offer it can't refuse

The Puzo estate and Paramount Pictures have reached a settlement over a $1 million dollar lawsuit relating to the Godfather game based on the film.

Lawyers for the Puzo estate (the now deceased Mario Puzo penned the book) filed its case against Paramount in June last year, claiming to be owed profits from sales and rentals of EA's title.

The terms of the settlement are not clear, according to APF, although Bert Fields, the attorney for the Puzo estate, said "We think it's a terrific settlement."

EA recently delayed the release of The Godfather II from February 27 to an April-June launch window.
