Capcom has shipped two million copies of Street Fighter IV worldwide in line with its global release.
The announcement follows Media Create's calculations that the new release had sold some 86,000 units in its first week in Japan.
Demand for the title is tellingly high; the game's official console arcade sticks from Madcatz, as well as relevant Hori boards, have completely sold out in key regions.
Later today Edge will report how well the game has fared during its very brief time at the UK retailers, as GfK Chart Track is set to release its weekly sales data.
Capcom adds in a statement that the series has sold "over 500,000 arcade machines and 27 million console games" since the franchise was born in 1987.
