Major Nintendo release this Christmas?

That's what Gamestop's US boss reckons anyway...

CEO of US retailer, Dan DeMatteo, has said that he expects there to be a major release from Nintendo this Christmas. He says this because Nintendo has asked him to reserve a large chunk of shelf space. Time to raise those hopes again kids...

Speaking to CNBC, he said, "We think there will be a Nintendo key property coming out by the end of the year. They haven't given us any insight, but they have told us to reserve [shelf] space." Our hearts just skipped a beat.

The piece then makes mention of how there's speculation "Nintendo may be working on a new instalment in the Zelda franchise" but we daren't even start thinking about that. Or a new Mario game. Or Star Fox. It'll hurt too much when it turns out to be Wii Fit 2 or something similar.

You can bet that what ever it is, it will be unveiled at E3. Feel free to speculate away in the comment below. But don't say we didn't warn you...
