Today CVG launches a brand new Flash-based version of its video player and we'd like your feedback on how it's working.
Hopefully you've just tuned in, read a few stories, played a few movies and noticed nothing different so it's all gone seamlessly. However like all new site features the Flash Movie Player launches as a beta and we welcome your feedback, suggestions and comments.
You can let us know how things are going directly in the comments below as always, but we've also set up and will be actively monitoring a dedicated Flash Movie Player thread for more in-depth feedback or if you have any questions.
The new Flash player replaces our old WMV-based one (and about time, most of you will probably say) in both its in-article and HD forms, and since it's a feature you've long demanded we hope it's one you will enjoy.
You should see much greater compatibility on PC, Mac and Mobile formats and we've even optimised playback for PS3, although unfortunately the Wii's version of Flash is a little too old (we hope Nintendo will update soon) and the iPhone's Safari browser doesn't use Flash.
Naturally we've tried to test it on as many platforms, browsers and hardware configurations as we can, but nothing actually beats a field test and you can help us by letting us know any bugs, glitches or problems you encounter.
We welcome all feedback but if you are reporting a bug, please remember to include platform (PC, Mac, Mobile etc.), browser type (FF, IE or Safari etc.) and version no. as this will help us more easily identify potential problems.
We look forward to the usual torrent of abuse, occasional praise and lots of shouting!
