Yamauchi: Forza 3 is "different from a simulator"

Gran Turismo man questions the realism of Xbox racer

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has said that the Xbox-exclusive Forza Motorsport 3 isn't quite a simulator.

When asked if he'd played Turn 10's racer, Kazunori said it was similar in many ways to the GT series. "I was watching the guys at our company trying it out in the office. I tried it a little bit. It's very similar in a lot of aspects to Gran Turismo," noted Yamauchi.

"Some base components of the game are very different from Gran Turismo. It's a little bit different from what a simulator is. You can feel it when you drive it," he went on to tell Autoweek.

The Gran Turismo series prides itself on being a "Real Driving Simulator", as the game titles imply. GT5, due for PS3 in March next year, will be the first in the series to include crash damage (which you can see in the video above).
