Nintendo downloads: Pokémon, Uno

Pokémon Rumble, Shootantos, Army Defenders...

There are six new releases awaiting you in the Wii and DS shops this week, headed up by Pokemon Rumble and ably backed by the quirky poo-throwing jungle sim Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem...

Read below for the official breakdown.

WiiWARE - POKEMON RUMBLE
(Nintendo, 1,500 Points)

This week's biggie, catering for up to four people, puts you in control of Toy Pokemon as you bid to become the last Pokemon standing.

But this isn't just about battling waves of enemies and being hostile; your defeated adversaries can be befriended and added to your collection, giving you the option of playing as them, too.

Once your Toy Pokemon ranks have swelled, you can enter the Battle Royale.

WiiWARE SHOOTANTO: EVOLUTIONARY MAYHEM
(Hudson, 500 Wii points)

A point-and-shoot, lightgun-y poo-chucking (!) blaster, that pits you as a monkey on a quest to become king of the jungle. And to achieve this, you literally pelt giant insects, prehistoric snakes and lizardmen with your the post-digested matter of last night's dins. Superb!

DSiWARE - A LITTLE BIT OF... ALL-TIME CLASSICS: STRATEGY GAMES
(500 Nintendo DSi points)

Get your brain motoring with this bout of tactical jaunts from the DS original. Included are Backgammon, Field Tactics, Turncoat, Connect Five and Grid Attack.

DSiWARE - UNO
(Gameloft, 500 Nintendo DSi Points)

The vintage card game shuffles onto the DSi with a multiplayer mode that can be accessed by DS Wirless Play or Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, and a bevy of rule customisations.

DSiWARE - ARMY DEFENDER
(Mindscape, 200 DSi Points)

The simple concept of defending your abode from hordes of invading soldiers, tanks, paratroopers and airborne hostiles. Sounds pretty hectic to us, but apparently you do have an atomic bomb at your disposal, which should even things out a bit!

DSiWARE - MYNOTEBOOK: BLUE
(Nnooo, 200 DSi Points)

Does exactly what it says on the tin, i.e. transforms your DSi into a notebook. Job done.
