From the NGamer office...

What's going down in Nintendo town this week

Like a hedgehog coming out of hibernation early, the NGamer blog is back, Back, BACK!

We can only apologise for our recent absence from what the young people have probably long since stopped calling the blogosphere. Blame the weather. Blame the government. Blame the fact we've been playing games all day. Anyway, we're back, and we're sorry we left you. We were fools. It won't happen again.

So, what's the deal with these new blogs then? Well, on a Monday we'll be mithering on about what's happening in the office, how the latest issue of the magazine's coming along, and any big Nintendo stuff we're looking forward to. Then on a Friday we'll give you a friendly reminder of any games that are out that day, occasionally with helpful comments to inform your purchasing (but only occasionally, mind).

And then in between those, probably on a Wednesday, logically speaking, we'll be running mini-competitions where, for the measly price of a text message, you can win all manner of stuff. Not bad, eh?

So, this week. What's occurring? Well, only the Nintendo Summit that threatens to blow our tiny minds with awesome revelations. We mentioned on our Twitter feed a week or so ago that it threatens to be "better than Nintendo's last two E3s glued together". Naturally, our comment has caused all manner of internet speculation, as all good comments should do, but we're not kidding when we say that you can expect some Very Big News in the next few days.

In the meantime, however, we're busy working on issue 48 of the magazine. To give you an idea of what to expect from it, this is what we're all up to this industrious Monday morning...

Kittsy is: Going old-school with the Download section, and looking forward to tonight's Raymond Blanc programme on BBC2, hoping he makes something a bit more plausible than last week's chocolate cup of coffee.
What does Kittsy think we'll see at the Nintendo Summit? "Well, that's when they're going to reveal Sonic in Mario Galaxy 2, obviously," he says, confidently.

Matthew is: Conquering the universe with his Infinite Space fleet and conquering the vending machine with his Infinite Hunger.
What does Matthew think we'll see at the Nintendo Summit? "Me, playing loads of awesome Nintendo games. And (hopefully) some sausage rolls and Lion bars." Mmm, sausage rolls...

Andy is: Overjoyed with the 3-0 win over Preston at the weekend and is filling up the National Dex in Pokémon Platinum.
What does Andy think we'll see at the Nintendo Summit? "DS2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, Pilotwings, Star Fox, more Pokeymans, erm, Bahamut Lagoon DS remake. Things like that." Does Andy know something we don't?

Charlotte is: Making lots of words fit onto pages, some of which will almost certainly end up in the right place thanks to the law of averages. And playing some not-terribly-good games for Reviews Roundup.
What does Charlotte think we'll see at the Nintendo Summit? "Hopefully some Mario and Metroid. I doubt the latest Jewel Quest will get a mention, though. Shame." Jewel Quest? Let it go, woman!

Kim is: Designing a big feature about modding your Nintendo consoles and accessories. And hoping that the cleaning fairy comes round to do her bathroom.
What does Kim think we'll see at the Nintendo Summit? "Sir Ranulph Fiennes? He got to the summit of Everest after all..." That's a very good point.
