Nintendo 3DS will be playable at E3

Chief spokesman explains why firm announced it early...

Nintendo's has confirmed that the new Nintendo 3DS handheld will be playable at E3.

In yesterday's official statement, Nintendo said that additional details would be announced at the games show which takes place in June but chief spokesman Ken Toyoda has confirmed that the media will be able to get hands-on with the new 3D handheld.

Explaining why Nintendo decided to announce the 3DS before E3, Toyoda said "We wanted to give the gaming industry a head's up about what to expect from Nintendo at E3. We'll invite people to play with the new device then."
