Sony has scrunched up and binned reports of LittleBigPlanet 2's development, debunking statements from a Dutch Sony rep that appeared to confirm so.
Dutch PlayStation marketing man Folkert Langeveld popped up on Tuesday saying the PS Move controller would create "new gameplay experiences for new games" such as "Socom and LittleBigPlanet 2". Sequel confirmed then? Nope, says another man from Sony.
"As demonstrated recently at GDC, LittleBigPlanet has been shown as an example of how an existing game could benefit from PlayStation Move Motion Controller support. This is not a confirmation of LittleBigPlanet 2, and we do not have any announcements to make about the LittleBigPlanet franchise," an SCEE rep told Connected Consoles.
The demoed version of LittleBigPlanet they refer to - presumably a re-release of the existing game or an upcoming patch - will allow one player to use a PS Move controller to manipulate objects in the environment, helping the other player who controls Sackboy with a standard DualShock to get through the level.
