Fresh from celebrating Just Cause 2's entry into the UK Charts at No.1, Swedish developer Avalanche has revealed it is keen on creating a third instalment in the series.
Speaking to industry news site Develop, Swedish studio head Christofer Sundberg said: "I think there are a lot of connections with [Avalanche and] the IP and so we hope there's still a future in it, and that future to live as long as us."
Sundberg said that fans "shouldn't be surprised" to see a third entry in the series arrive from Avalanche.
"We are absolutely interested in working with the Just Cause IP again," he added.
"I personally wrote the original pitch for the game in early 2003, so it's something that means a lot for me and for the people in this studio.
"The studio lives and breathes the Just Cause franchise, and handing that over to another developer would spoil it. No one has the attachment to this IP as we do."

I have to wait about 2 weeks until I can afford to buy this. I havent checked other release dates so I don't know if other things are out then. From my demo impressions though, i'd say go for it.

That would be great!
But I think it will take a while to complete JC2, as it's massive!
Online Multiplayer & a jet pack for JC3 is about the only additions I could think of (unless a jet pack is yet to come in JC2). & before anyone says "oh a jet pack, like in GTA San andreas", I know that JC1 & 2 are GTA "clones" but a jet pack would fit the story better in this, unklike GTA:SA!

Based on what I've played of the full game so far (only managed about 4% in 3 and a bit hours due to being easily distracted), I would be happy to shell out for a third game in a year or two.
Get programming fellas (but make the shooting slightly less wobbly
)

I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting used to the shakey guns but it seems that they get more accurate the more you upgrade them?!
I hardly ever miss with the two signature guns I got with the Limited Edition (that are maxed out on the upgrade front) where as the pistols etc are all over the place, but getting better?!?!

Oh yeah, good point. I haven't redeemed my download code for the special edition items yet (and have been too busy messing about to do the upgrades etc). Cheers for that

No worries! I hope it works for you! But like I say it could be just a case of getting used to it too!? But, if nothing else upgrading the weapons means you run out of ammo less often!

Amazing game...
Playing since Friday - 14 hours in and I'd say less than 10% done (100% of about 25 villages out of 368!!!)
2 main issues - lack of any kind of cover system (definitely needs to be one in the next one) - crouching doesn't cut it - can't even fire whilst crouching!
Not being able to climb or grab on to anything - having to use grappling hook for even the smallest ledges spoils is a bit fiddly... and totally unrealistic...
OTHER THAN THAT!
Totally amazing!

And don't forget to include decent voice actors next time around. The voiceovers in this game is without a doubt the worst performances I've heard this generation.
Oh, and fix the vehicle handling.
Oh and one last thing. If you're going to have a massive island with over 300 villages, at least offer some variety. It seems as if once you've seen the first 5 or 6 villages, all the others are pretty much identical.
Oh and offer some more variety in the missions. There are way too many that are similar.
I think thats about it....at least for the moment.

I'm at 49% completion myself, just about to hit 50%. And I'm only missing seven achievements. Should get two tomorrow within' half an hour or so. Need 100% at six more places for the (100 locations finished at 100%) acheev, and then of course just about 1% more complete for the (50% completion) acheev.
After that I need 1,000 resource items, I'm at about 900, 150 faction items...which I'm not sure where I'm at but I think around 80 or so...and then 50 challenges complete...and I'm at about 35 for that...
Then the last two are going to be the hardest...75% completion...although that won't necessarily be hard, just really long, and drive all 104 cars...which I think I'm going to need a guide for.
But this game is just so awesome, I really can't stop playing it. I couldn't even put it down for the MW2 Map Pack for more than 10 minutes...and I've had Dante's Inferno sitting here unopened for about a week now. Hopefully I'll be done with this by the time Episodes from Liberty City comes in for PC, and Splinter Cell Conviction for 360.
Almost hit the 40 hour mark, and like I said, I'm only at 49%...so I'm thinking it'll be a good 25 hours before I'm at 75%...and who knows how long it'll take me to drive all the vehicle's.
I think all I really would like is if they maybe fixed handling on the vehicles a bit, and made more variety as opposed to what the missions were and what the cities and other things looked like. As someone else said, once you've seen 3-4 cities you've seen them all, so it gets rather bland...
Oh, and jetpack wouldn't be very good for this game. It wouldn't be cooler than a parachute, or faster than a plane...so it wouldn't really make it in my book. Plus the parachute is more natural to have on your back at all times...I don't want my guy walking around with a jetpack on his back, or God forbid, just click a button and have it pop up on my back...
I mean, it might be kind of cool to use for like one mission...like have to use it to escape a building that's about to explode or something, but I'd rather keep my parachute and I don't see a use for both.
