The Gears of War movie has suffered a big budget cut, according to new sources.
The LA Times reports that production on the film at New Line Cinema has 'slowed down'.
The original plan was for a $100-million epic detailing humanity's war against the Locust, but now it's now reported that the studio wants something smaller and cheaper.
Underworld and Die Hard veteran Len Wiseman - previously Gears director and the biggest name attached to the project - has moved onto another movie. And as he's married to the other mooted star Kate Beckinsale she's also likely to have jumped.
The script for the Gears movie has reportedly been penned by Wanted writer Chris Morgan and features character work from veteran Billy Ray (who has worked on State of Play, Flightplan the 24 movie).
