Bungie expects Halo: Reach to record the biggest console beta launch of all-time next month - and is forecasting over three million players on day one.
Access to the beta is available through keys given away with Halo: ODST, which was released last year.
"My expectation is it could be upwards of 3 million people [on launch day]," Bungie community boss Brian Jarrard told the Seattle Times today.
"I think that's a fairly conservative estimate. Certainly there will never be a console beta of this magnitude."
The firm said that it had done a "lot of work" to ensure region-specific matchmaking went smoothly for the beta - after it faced problems with Halo 3.
The Halo: Reach beta will kick off on May 3rd.
