Square Enix CEO, Yoichi Wada, has provided clarification to his statement on the possibility of Final Fantasy Versus XIII making its way to Microsoft's Xbox 360.
Yesterday Wada remarked that Square Enix was looking into the possibility of an Xbox 360 release for Final Fantasy Versus XIII during the company's investors meeting.
Wada's latest clarification comes by the way of his official Twitter account, which states that release platforms are not finalised until announcements are made about the platforms the game's are on. Right.
This raises questions as to why last year's Tokyo Games Show trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII ended with the statement "Only on PlayStation 3 Worldwide."
Wada's comment as posted on Twitter and translated by Andriasang reads as follows:
"It looks like the 'net is heating up. Versus on Xbox? What I said at the earnings press conference was just that until a formal announcement is made at the announcement time, all points about all titles are not finalised."
When exactly that announcement will happen is unknown, since the game's director, Tetsuya Nomura, has claimed that Versus XIII may not be ready for an E3 showing.
It would certainly be interesting to hear Nomura's views on his game appearing on the Xbox 360, since he has previously presented a staunch PlayStation allegiance. Then again, he's not the one who writes the cheques...
