Red Dead Redemption - which releases on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in the UK tomorrow - has become Amazon.co.uk's most pre-ordered video game of 2010.
The title has locked down Amazon's top two positions, with the PS3 and Xbox 360 limited edition packages also entering the top ten best-sellers chart at fourth and seventh respectively.
"This is undoubtedly the most hotly anticipated video game of the year so far," commented Chris Poad, director of video games at Amazon.co.uk Ltd.
"Demand has risen significantly over the last week as excitement and buzz around the game has built, making it one of the most successful titles we have seen on Amazon.co.uk this year before it has even been released."
The title's pre-orders have trumped all other hit 2010 games, including Final Fantasy XIII, Alan Wake and God of War III. This success has led industry analyst Michael Pachter to retract his doubts about a Western game doing well at retail. You can read our review of the game here.
