Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes Of Light, a DS RPG that promises to be more accessible than previous adventures on the handheld.
Set for release in the autumn, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes Of Light will feature a new easy to control battle system in order to appeal to new fans of the series.
The battle system will be turn-based as usual but it will feature touch screen controls with players able to set their own battle commands.
Despite appearing to be more accessible, Square-Enix is also promising that this RPG will go back to basics with an adventure that stars four young heroes who embark on an adventure where they will encounter dragons, kings, princesses and witches.
There is also an offline multi-player mode with four players working together to conquer dungeons.
As for jobs, the unique new job change "Crown System" allows players to freely switch the character's class simply by changing the hat each character wears. There are over 20 jobs to choose from including the traditional Black Mage, White Mage, Ranger and many more.
"The Final Fantasy series has a rich history of offering unforgettable adventures and exciting new experiences," said Larry Sparks, the Euro vice president of Square Enix. "Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes Of Light continues this famous tradition, with an adventure that boasts incredible ease of play and a gorgeous art style that should prove to be extremely popular with fans."
But will the new easy to control battle system to easy to control. We'll find out at E3 where the game will be playable.
