Pikmin 3 was a shock absentee from E3 last month but Shigeru Miyamoto has reassured fans that the game is "progressing well".
Speaking at a recent shareholders meeting, Miyamoto said "Amongst the present promises, I have to finish Pikmin quickly, so production is progressing extremely well."
With 3DS on the horizon it's no surprise that Miyamoto is under pressure to finish Pikmin 3 quickly but we still don't know when it will be released.
Nintendo often use the E3 conference to showcase its line-up of winter games. Pikmin 3 wasn't on show and we have yet to see a single screenshot so it would be a surprise if it was released this year.
In fact, all we know is that Miyamoto is working on it and it will be released on Wii. In the same meeting Miyamoto discussed the possibility of creating a game starring a new character, something he hasn't done since Pikmin was released in 2001.
Want to know why he hasn't done so? ONM have been investigating.
