New sci-fi action RPG Darkspore was only revealed yesterday, but fortunately we've already managed to grab a bunch of the first screens from the game.
An mix of single player battle and up to four- player online co-op, Darkspore is set to launch early next year and is the brainchild of EA's Maxis studio previously responsible for hits like The Sims and Sim City. This looks like a pretty different beast though.
"Darkspore is inspired in part by the award-winning creature editor tech of Spore, but also in large part from the team's own passion for gaming and prior experience," said Lucy Bradshaw, General Manager of Maxis Studio. "The team has combined these inspirations to produce a unique take on the action RPG genre."
Set to feature tens of thousands of collectable arms and armour and three unique classes of five different hero types, there should be plenty of variety for players as they battle across alien worlds to save the galaxy from the mutated forces of Darkspore.
