Shopping, unless it's for the absolute essentials such as pizza, Skittles or Post-it notes, is an unwelcome chore. But any visit to a capitalist pigdog shopping centre can be livened up no end if you throw several hundred zombies into the equation.
Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop does just that, slipping you into the bloodied loafers of Frank West as he battles hordes of the shambling undead in Willamette Park View Mall. And if you can find an item in this shoppers' paradise, chances are you can use it to fend off a zombie. Marvellous.
If that sounds like your sort of weekend, you'll be wanting to enter this week's Winsday competition. The compo's open until midnight on Thursday, we'll pick the winner on Friday morning and send the game out with our swiftest carrier pigeon so that it arrives with the victor on Saturday. All you need to do is answer a question. Just one. It's an easy one too.
A word before you answer the question, by the way. Dead Rising carries a BBFC 18 rating because of its "strong bloody violence" (ie, there's lots of blood, they're not just trying to emphasise how much violence there is [they need a comma after 'strong' - Grammar Ed]) so you must be 18 or older to enter this week's Winsday. Okay, you can carry on now...
Q: Dead Rising's shopping mall setting is reminiscent of which famous zombie movie?
A) Shaun Of The Dead
B) Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed
C) Dawn Of The Dead
Know the answer? Just text NGRISING followed by a space then your answer (A, B or C), then another space and your full name and address to 87474. Texts cost a trifling 25p plus your standard network rate. The closing date is midnight on Thursday 29 July 2010. Or you can enter by going to www.futurecomps.co.uk/rising.
Full terms and conditions can be found here.
Don't worry if you don't win this week - there'll be another competition next Wednesday.
