No motion control for RAGE

John Carmack not a fan of 'novelty' peripherals

iD's gorgeous-looking shooter RAGE won't be compatible with PlayStation Move or Microsoft Kinect, the studio has confirmed.

iD head and industry veteran John Carmack told the new issue of Official PlayStation Magazine that he thought motion-control was a "novelty" addition to consoles.

"I mean we know how to make something cool, like when you shoot a gun and a monster takes a hit," said Carmack. "We like to think we've done a good job designing our game around what we expect most people to play on, which means there aren't any areas there that will be drastically improved by some novelty controller."

He added, categorically: "At this point we have zero plans to include motion sensing technologies."

Carmack was speaking as part of OPM's new horror game special, which also features Dead Space 2, F.E.A.R 3 and many more.
